Marc is conducting his independent thesis under the supervision of Christine Ma-Kellams, Ph.D. This is the culmination of his two year academic journey in his Master's program and joins together two of his major research topics of interest: Human & AI Interaction and Social Connectedness.

In his research, Marc is exploring three primary research questions: 

How do interactions with AI Chatbots affect self-esteem and immediate perceptions of a friendship?

Does the type of self-disclosure matter in how connected someone may feel to an AI chatbot?

How does loneliness status affect the relationship one may experience with an AI Chatbot?
